QLine IT is now a listed filtering and monitoring integrator with the UK Safer Internet Centre (UKSIC). The QLine IT filtering and monitoring solution has been self certified against the UKSIC Appropriate Filtering and Monitoring criteria, and the QLine IT responses are published on the UKSIC website for any provider to view.
This places QLine IT alongside the established names in online safety and gives children’s homes clear, independent visibility of exactly how the QLine IT solution measures up against the national standard.
What this means for children’s homes
Children’s homes have a clear duty to keep the young people in their care safe, including online. Under the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the associated Quality Standards, the protection of children standard expects homes to help children stay safe from harm, and Ofsted looks for effective safeguarding arrangements at inspection. Appropriate filtering and monitoring of internet access is a practical part of meeting that responsibility.
By self certifying against the UKSIC criteria and publishing its responses on the UKSIC website, QLine IT gives children’s homes the evidence they need that the solution is built to meet the recognised national benchmark. When inspectors, managers or your designated safeguarding lead ask how your filtering and monitoring keeps children safe, the answer is documented and public.
You can read the QLine IT published responses on the UKSIC website:
Built to the full standard, not the minimum
The UKSIC criteria set a high bar. They cover the blocking of illegal content, alignment with the Internet Watch Foundation list and the Home Office Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit list, age appropriate filtering, monitoring of concerning activity, and clear reporting for safeguarding teams.
QLine IT has answered every one of these criteria in full. The QLine IT solution is designed to do more than tick a compliance box. It is built to give children’s homes a genuine balance between protection and access, so young people are kept safe from harmful material without unnecessary overblocking that gets in the way of everyday life and learning.
Safeguarding at the centre
Self certification against the UKSIC criteria is an important milestone, but it reflects a wider commitment. QLine IT works continuously to keep its filtering and monitoring solution current as online risks evolve, from social media and VPN misuse to the changing ways young people use the internet.
QLine IT believes technology should support safeguarding in a meaningful and practical way. Meeting the national criteria is the starting point. Helping children’s homes build genuinely safer digital environments is the goal.
