A template library
Policy and procedure templates for children's homes in England, Wales and Scotland, included with Care and kept up to date.
Precinct Care
Start from a template written to the regulations, adapt it for your homes, and ask staff to read and sign. Every version is kept, so you can show an inspector exactly which policy was in force on any date and who had signed it.
Policies are usually Word documents in a shared drive, with a signing sheet in a folder. Nobody is quite sure who has read the latest version. In Precinct Care, policies live next to the records they govern, and staff sign them on the same device they use on shift.
Where we are: Precinct Care is in final development, shaped with registered managers, Responsible Individuals and Reg 44 visitors. We are booking demonstrations now and taking a small number of pilot homes. The snippets on this page are from the working system, filled with made-up people and records.

Adopt a template as version 1.0, then change it for your homes, or upload your own Word document.
When a template is updated, you see exactly what changed and choose whether to adopt it.
Everyone the policy applies to signs to say they've read it, with their face or fingerprint. The manager sees who hasn't.
Inspectors can see which version was in force on any date and who had signed it.
Each policy has an owner and a review date, and the owner is reminded before it's due.

The policy list shows each policy's version, the regulations it covers, its owner, its next review and how many staff have signed it. Policies due for review come first.
The library covers safeguarding and child protection, behaviour support and physical intervention, missing from care, child exploitation, medication including controlled drugs, online safety and mobile phones, anti-bullying, Prevent, allegations against staff and whistleblowing, safer recruitment, searching young people and their rooms, fire safety, records and access to records, complaints, admissions and matching, education, contact and family time, and moving on and leaving care, among others.
Templates are a starting point. Each provider checks and signs off its own policies. The safeguarding escalation flowchart in the policy is the same one staff see on every young person's Safety tab, so practice and policy match.
Book a 30-minute demonstration. We'll show you the screens your staff, managers and inspectors would use.
