Precinct Care

Referrals and matching for children's homes

Every referral from every local authority in one place, instead of a spreadsheet and an inbox. Screen it, match it, make the offer, and when it's accepted Precinct Care makes the young person's file.

Referrals arrive by email at all hours, with a deadline to answer. In Precinct Care each one is logged with the placing authority, the young person's needs and the time the answer is due, and moves through screening, matching and the offer. Nothing is typed again when the young person moves in.

Where we are: Precinct Care is in final development, shaped with registered managers, Responsible Individuals and Reg 44 independent persons. We are booking demonstrations now and taking a small number of pilot homes. The snippets on this page are from the working system, filled with made-up people and records.

What referrals and matching does

One list for every referral

Received, answer-by time, placing authority and status, newest first, across all your homes.

Screening against your Statement of Purpose

Check the needs against what each home is registered and staffed for, and record why if it isn't a fit.

Impact risk assessment

For each young person already living in the home, the likely impact of the move, linked to their own file and risk assessments.

Places free, at a glance

Which homes have a place, so the right home is considered first.

The file made for you

When the offer is accepted, the referral becomes the young person's file, with the information already in it.

Why referrals didn't lead to a move-in

No vacancy, needs outside the Statement of Purpose, impact on others, location: counted for the Responsible Individual.

Every referral, with the clock on it

The list shows each referral's reference, when it arrived, the young person's main needs, the placing authority, which home is being considered and when the local authority needs an answer. New referrals are marked until someone starts screening.

Where a local authority withholds a name, the referral reference is used until the offer is made.

Referral notes on a young person's plans in Precinct Care, linking to the impact risk assessment

Matching that thinks about the children already there

When a home is considered, Precinct Care adds a note to each current young person's plans with a link to the impact risk assessment, so the keyworker and manager can say how the move might affect them. The assessment is kept with the referral and shared with the local authority when the offer is made.
