Anyone can use this, business or home user, client or not. You bring the device to our office at 6 Killingbeck Court, Leeds LS14 6FD, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. We log it in, pack it and hand it to Secure Data Recovery, who arrange the courier to their cleanroom lab.

We do not open, test or try to repair the device ourselves. A failing drive can lose more data every time it is powered on, so the safest thing anyone can do is leave it to the specialists. Secure Data Recovery look at it, tell you what can be recovered and what it will cost, and only go ahead once you agree.

Our office at 6 Killingbeck Court is the Leeds location listed on Secure Data Recovery's website.

Secure Data Recovery are a specialist data recovery company with a cleanroom lab in London. They offer free diagnostics and a "No Data, No Recovery Fee" guarantee, so you only pay if they recover the data you need. The price is agreed between you and them before any work starts.

How it works

Call first if you can. Ring Secure Data Recovery's Leeds line on 0113 490 0302 (24/7) or us on 0113 8000 192. They open a case and let us know you are coming.
Drop the device at our office. 6 Killingbeck Court, Leeds LS14 6FD, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Bring the charger or cable if it has one.
We send it to the lab. Secure Data Recovery handle the shipping labels, courier and tracking.
You get a free evaluation and a quote. The lab tells you what can be recovered and the price. Nothing is done until you agree.
Your files come back. Recovered data is returned to you on a new drive.

Before you bring it in

Stop using it. If a drive is clicking, grinding or not recognised, switch it off and leave it off.
Do not run recovery software or keep restarting it. Each attempt can make the damage worse.
Do not open it. Drives are built in a cleanroom; dust on the platters can destroy data for good.
Wet phones: do not charge them or put them in rice. Bring them in as they are.

For businesses: better than recovery is not needing it

Data recovery is the last resort. A business with automatic, encrypted backup can usually restore a lost laptop or failed drive from yesterday's copy, at no extra cost and without waiting for a lab. Backup and disaster recovery are included in our Full IT Support contract.

Questions we're asked

Can anyone use the drop-off, or only QLine IT clients?

Anyone. Businesses and home users can both drop a device at our Leeds office, whether or not they are a QLine IT client.

Do you diagnose the device yourselves?

No. We do not power on, test or open the device, because that can make a failing drive worse. It goes to Secure Data Recovery's lab as it is, and they evaluate it.

How much does data recovery cost?

It depends on the device and the fault, so there is no fixed price. Secure Data Recovery evaluate it free and give you a quote before any work starts. Under their "No Data, No Recovery Fee" guarantee you only pay if your data is recovered.

How long does it take?

Secure Data Recovery offer different service speeds, including an emergency service. They will tell you the options when they quote.
